Die Publikation beruht auf dem gleichnamigen 2. Workshop der AG-Comicforschung, der vom 24. bis 26. April 2015 an der Universität Tübingen ausgerichtet wurde. Weitere Beiträge der Ausgabe gehen auf die Tübinger Winter Schools “Transmedial Worlds in Convergent Media Culture” (24. bis 28. Februar 2014) und “Transmedial Narratology: Theories and Methods” (23. bis 26. Februar 2016) zurück.
